         Itinerary          

 

Day 1: Lima.
On arrival at Lima international airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel, located in Miraflores the safest and nicest area of Lima. You will be met by our Agent in your hotel where you will receive your travel vouchers and tickets. Evening: Overnight in Lima.

Day 2: Flight Lima Puerto Maldonado (Tambopata National Reserve).
Transfer to the airport to board your early morning flight to Puerto Maldonado, the closest town to Tambopata Reserve. On arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to Peruvian Safari's office (extra luggage will be stored here) where you will join the travel group and get ready for your adventure in Tambopata National Reserve. You will be driven to “Infierno” village where you will board a motorized dugout canoes and travel to Explorers’ Inn for 1 ½ hours on the way you may see Caymans, turtles and waterfowl, etc. On arrival at Explorers’ Inn lodge you will enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and lunch (depending on time arrival you may have a box lunch on the boat). Now you can feel you are in the deep inside pristine rain forest surrounded by its sounds and its magic. After lunch you will have a brief siesta to be ready for your first hike to a small lagoon and return in time to enjoy a jungle sunset at Sunset Point. When the sun has gone we will board the canoe for a short night ride to spot Caymans on the riverbanks please don’t forget to bring your flashlight! After this great experience you will have dinner, and the Resident Naturalists (RNs) and guides will be happy to answer questions or tell you more about the secrets of the Amazon rain forest.
Evening: Overnight in Explorer’s Inn.

Day 3: Tambopata Reserve.
After an early breakfast, your guide will lead you to Cococha oxbow lake, during this 3½ mile hike you will observe exotic plants and insects, colorful butterflies and birds, monkeys and, with some luck even some of the large mammals. On arrival at the lake you can have a guided canoe ride to watch the giant river otters and the wildlife on the shoreline. Return to the Explorers Inn for a late lunch.
Afternoon: free for relaxing or independent activities.
Evening: Overnight in Explorer’s Inn.

Day 4: Tambopata Reserve Puerto Maldonado, flight to Cusco.
Today is your last day in Tambopata so you will have a very early wake up and breakfast. You will board our canoe to return to Puerto Maldonado on the way you will watch an unforgettable dawn on the Tambopata River. On arrival in Puerto Maldonado, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. On arrival at Cusco airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel, located in the center of Cusco.
Afternoon: free to relax and acclimatization.
Evening: Overnight in Cusco.

Day 5: Private tour of Cusco and nearby Inca Ruins.
Morning: Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and show you the highlights of Cusco, the colonial cathedral, the great temple of Korikancha and the 4 impressive Inca ruins around Cusco, Sacsayhuaman, with its massive walls, Qenko, site of carved living rock, Puca Pucara, an Inca lodging Site & Tambo Machay, known as the Baths of the Inca. Our expert guides will make sure you get the most of these special places.
Evening: Overnight in Cusco.

Day 6: Private tour of the Incas’ sacred valley.
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your and driven to the Incas’ sacred valley, visiting the famous Indian Market of Pisac where you'll be able to interact with the local families or buy handicraft, souvenirs, learn about the local culture, see the native villages and have a guided tour of Ollantaytambo Fortress, an incredible Royal Inca site where the Incas made one of their last stands against the Spanish.
Evening: Overnight in the valley of the Incas (9,100 ft).

Day 7: Vista dome train journey Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes.
Morning: you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Ollantaytambo train station to board the Vista dome train which will take you to Aguas Calientes (the base town of Machu Picchu).
On your arrival at the train station you will be met by your hotel staff and transferred to your Hotel.
You will have the afternoon free to relax and rest.
Evening: Overnight in Inka Terra Hotel.

Day 8: Private guided tour of Machu Picchu (8,200 ft)
Early Morning: your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take a 25 minute bus journey to Machu Picchu (before the crowds arrive), the most impressive and mysterious Inca Site where you will have a private guided tour and learn about the history of this site, who lived here, how it was discovered in modern times and why the Spaniards never found it. You will have some insight into the various features of this sacred city and have free time to really enjoy yourself alone in this spectacularly located site, an unforgettable experience that will stay with you forever!
Afternoon: Vista dome train journey back to Cusco. On your arrival at Cusco train station you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Cusco.

Day 9: Andean Explorer train journey Cusco - Puno (12,550 ft).
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the train station to board The Andean Explorer train and have one of the most fabulous train journeys in the world! An open-air Observation Bar Car will allow you to enjoy this beautiful route with the spectacular views of the Andes Mountains and countryside, a memorable travel experience through the high Altiplano region!
On arrival at Puno train station you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Puno.
Please note: the train only travels this route on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays.

Day 10: Lake Titicaca a unique destination!
After Breakfast, we board our motor boat to start the adventure on the highest navigable Lake in the world and largest in South America, our first stop will be on the floating impressive Totora reed Islands of The Uros where you will see how these pre-Incan people live; then we continue onto Taquile Islands where we will learn more about Inca’s culture and traditions; their lifestyle remains the same as it has been for centuries with very little influence from modern times.
In the afternoon you will return to Puno and transferred you to your Hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Puno.

Day 11: Flight Juliaca Lima.
Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima. On arrival at Lima airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel located in the bustling, cosmopolitan Miraflores area of the city. Afternoon: Lima tour. We will drive you downtown into the city of the Kings; our English speaking guide will help you to get to know the Plaza de Armas, with the baroque cathedral, the Palacio de Gobierno (Governors Palace), the Archbishop's Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and the convent of San Francisco, whose bright yellow facade covers a grisly secret. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery for the whole of Lima during the colonial period!
Evening: Overnight in Lima.

Day 12: Tourist bus journey Lima - Ica (4 1/2 hours).
6:20: transfer from your hotel to the bus station to board your tourist bus to Ica. 12:00: on arrival in Ica you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Free afternoon to enjoy the sun, you can have a walk around Huacachina Oasis or try the sand boarding and the sand dune buggy ride!
Evening: Overnight in Ica.

Day 13: Flight over Nasca Lines from Ica airport.
Morning: transfer from your hotel to Ica airport to take the flight over the fantastic Nasca Lines for panoramic views of a monkey, a fish, a spider, a hummingbird and many drawings and geometric figures on the desert visible only from the air. The mystery of these huge figures in the desert continues even today.
Afternoon bus journey from Ica to Lima.
 You will be picked from your hotel and transferred to the bus station to return to Lima by tourist bus.
On your arrival in Lima our representative will meet you and transferred to your hotel.
Evening: Overnight in Lima.

Day 14: Flight back home.
Transfer at any time from your Hotel to the airport to board your flight back home. (B)
